This past week I was at a local pawn shop where I have bought several guns over the past year. They had this Model 74 that had been restored. I looked at it briefly and went home and did very little research on the rifle. I bought it anyway because I just liked it. According to the serial number it was made in 1948. Any comments or information anyone may have will be greatly appreciated. I don't know if I made a mistake or not. Thanks for looking

Just wondering if you ever got around to shooting the rifle? If so, how did it work?Have been thinking about getting one of these rifles lately.

I have one made in 1942. It was probably my Dad's first gun. It was made in 1939-1955.

They have a unique history to WW2. Sir Winston Churchill got several thousand on the lend-lease program. The Brits would hide and let the Nazi's run forward. They would come out of hiding and shoot them from the rear with a .22. Search Churchill and Winchester 74.
