I picked this up awhile back for a very small price. What really interested me was they CYL marking on the barrel. I'm hoping this is a factory, or at least near-factory build. I don't think the recoil pad is original, but I'm wondering if the rest of the gun is?

Either way, I can't wait to take this one out and try it on some clays.

Thanks. I have myself about convinced that it's a factory custom. Too much of a coincidence that it's a deluxe with all these features, plus a CYL-marked barrel. Just itching to try this one...

There is little doubt in my mind that that is original. It is shown in my 1956 Gun Digest as an option, the recoil pad may be also original especially if it a "heavy duck" gun. Does the pad have Winchester on it?

It's a Pachmayr pad. I wish I had a copy of the 1956 Gun Digest. I'd love to see the ad. I'm guessing this was a skeet gun in its day?

I figured it was original when I saw the CYL on the barrel.

The price tag on this one was $239.00. That price told me the store had written it off as "modified". I wasn't so sure. Honestly, if I found out it was indeed a frankengun, I would have lost interest pretty quick myself.

A bit heavy at 8 pounds. All that extra hardware might have done it. I'll be using it only for clays anyway so weight doesn't matter. I really like this gun! I took it all apart and now it's nice and clean inside and out.

Coming to shoulder as 8 pounds, I would not think a pad would be needed. However, I have not made shots with one. No matter, very nice find and price.

Is it chambered for 3"? That adjustable choke was not just for clay birds, it was for waterfowl,quail and pheasant as well.

It's a 2 3/4" chamber.

Regardless of chamber it looks to me to be a Deluxe Field grade which were available with or with out that adjustable choke. Both Poly Choke or Cutts Compensator were factory options. At any rate a very nice shotgun.
