'73 Butt Plates

Recently I picked up a set of wood for an 1873 rifle. It has a brass (old and dinged up) butt plate. Was this a standard issue for this gun? I can't out anything online, so I thought I would check with some experts. Thanks in advance for your help!

Is it crescent shaped? All the 73 butt plates Ive seen are steel with a trapdoor for cleaning rods.

shallow buttplates were for carbines. the rifle buttplates were more substantial. only 38-40 and 44-40 had the trapdoor in the plate for cleaning rods.
