1873 .22 short

These rifles are uncommon but don't seem to sell. Is it just the small caliber or are asking prices too high (or both)?

My subjective thinking. From the auctions that I have viewed on the Internet, prices are too much. Also, .22 short is not a popular round as in the early days of plinking.
