I have an 1873 38-40 made in 1883with very poor bore. Anyone know the barrel
thread size and best option for new barrel? It will be a shooter not a collector.

Welcome Waynebo,
I had a '73 that was so bad, it actually slung lead with rust dust. A shop did a chrome insert. This retained all the original barrel markings. I do not know thread size. GOA Life Member
