Question About Shooting 38sp In A 357

Understanding the way this is supposed to work, I have some concerns and one question.
First, the barrel on the new 92 says, "357 only."
Second, the owner of the shop where I work says no problem shooting 38sp.
Third, I have shot 100 rounds or so of Winchester 38sp ammo through the 92, however the rifle does not chamber every round smoothly at all.
Fourth, I don't want to shoot 38s IF there is a possibility of damaging the 92 in any fashion, or, of voiding the warranty.
Question. What say ye?? Thank you
