How long can Shotgun shells be stored? I have close to 175 rounds of 12 ga. shells of different types, from the '70s to early '80s stored in 100 round plastic shell boxes. Always been kept dry. Are these safe to shoot?

Yes as long as there is no corrosion on the brass. I still have and shoot some from the same time frame and older. Have fun and Be SAFE.
Too old to be nice, never too old to learn!

I have shells from my Dad's shotgun that were manufactured in the 1950's. Most look as new. A few have slight green oxidation around the primer. The oxidized shells are of the same brand. Some brands shelf better than others.
