Let's see what you use to haul your gear...

I started out using Pelican cases to store and also transport my rifles to the range. They're impact resistant and waterproof. Great for storage but they tended to get a little heavy for transport, especially when carrying multiple rifles.

I found this sniper's drag bag at a local mil-surplus store and it's been a game changer. All the room I need for my boomsticks and ammo in a much lighter package.

It's made from heavy duty nylon and has several pockets for tools, mags, etc. Also MOLLE compatable...

Zip-open the flap in the rear for two backpack style shoulder straps...

It's got plenty of room inside for two full-sized rifles. There's a padded center divider and two sets of straps to keep the rifles secured...

I carry my pistol range gear in a large Canon camera bag...

I like the padded dividers for separating pistols and ammo...

Image

There's a wide pocket underneath the lid that's perfect for my extended mags...

Image

The side pockets hold about a dozen mags each...

Image

The front pocket is perfect for carrying eye protection, ear plugs, tools, etc...

I really like that sniper drop bag that you found at a military surplus. I always keep an eye out for something like that but have yet to come across one.

The Pelican cases are about $200 each. I cut my own foam, so there was no added cost there. If I had it to do all over again I would skip the Pelican set-ups and go straight to the drag bag. The hard cases are nice and great for storage, but they're just to heavy to be practical for range use. The drag bag is a lot more versatile too.

I use a very feminine bag, lol, go figure! It's just a tote and it keeps my pistol case and all my ammo, glasses, ear muffs, ect. Anything will work, but it would be nice to have something made specifically for it's purpose. I intend on getting something else soon.

That's what I like about my camera/pistol range bag. It's very discrete which makes it great for road trips as well as days at the range...
