Although not rated as a big game caliber any more, I used a 25-35 when I was a kid. Since then I still love the round and have taken a number of big game animals with it, including a grizzly bear.

This is the hide, we just salted the hide and then tanned it years later. It was a 7 footer, near West Yellowstone Montana. The skull shows how to kill a grizzly with just one shot from a 25-35...

And some folks like to talk about how bullets will bounce off a Grizzly skull....LOL.

Nice pics!

I bought an old 94 sporting rifle in 25-35 last year to compete with in NRA Cowboy Lever Action Silhouette. I have been nothing but impressed with this caliber. It's very accurate, flat shooting and has a very mild recoil. I took it doe hunting one day this season, but didn't see any deer. Maybe next year.

As with all smaller caliber rifles, shot placement is everything, hunt with it if you are comfortable with it, just choose your shots carefully... the 25-35 cartridge has taken plenty of medium to large sized game over the years. It was designed as a medium to large game cartridge back in the day, so use it and have fun !

That's all an old friend of mine used for deer and anything else he needed to shoot. He carried it every day either in a scabbard on his horse or in the jeep. I love 94 but would prefer a '64.
