My Winchester Family together!

Well I have been wanting to take some pics of some my Winchester's and finally got around to doing so. Missing is my Model 77 tube fed .22 manufactured in 1958 as I have the barrel/action apart from the stock conditioning the stock. No bolt actions, yet. I prefer Lever actions to bolt actions, and only own presently one bolt action a Ruger 77 made in 1982 with the tang safety, and the ONLY rifle I own with a scope. I prefer iron sights as well. Gonna post individual photos of each in the specific model sub-forum later.

Rear to front. Model 12 full choke 32" barrel 12 Ga. manufactured 1951. Model 1897 full choke 30" barrel 12 GA. manufactured 1913. Model 94 .32 Win Special manufactured 1951. Model 88 308 Winchester manufactured 1955, this was the first year of manufacture, as well as the First lever action produced with a one-piece stock and 3 lug bolt! They referred to them as a bolt action with a lever. Model 270 .22 caliber pump standard model produced 63-73. Model 62A .22 caliber pump manufactured 1957.

Now we rolling. Very nice Winchester herd.

My pick of the litter are the 97 (I have 2 in 30 & 20" TD), 94 and 62A. The 62A is the sweetest .22 slide ever produced. I so wanted a copy in the 50s. Did not have the price at that time. Settled for a JC Higgins 28. Which I still have and learned to love her.

They All have a special place in my heart so to speak! The Model 94 I took my first deer with years ago now as a young lad, was my Grandpa's and set me on my love for lever actions. The 62A is absolutely perfect. My favorite .22 of all time smooth as silk. The Model 88 though is one I have been after for years as well and finally got one that was first year. Lots of folks like the other calibers they were offered in but I wanted a 308 in the first year of manufacture. My all time favorite lever action. But I will eventually end up with more Model 94's over time. There are lots of them I want!

Thanks Shooter! I bought my Grandson's, all three of them, all Model 190 .22's as their first firearm. Been reworking them and such and someday down the road as they are 7'8'9 years old they can take them home. I don't consider those mine. But my collection is ever growing.

That Model 62 brings back memories. I learned to shoot on one and probably put over 10K rounds through it. We used to sit on the bank of a pond and shoot Water moccasins as they swam between islands on the pond. Must have been hundreds of them each Summer. The 62 was extremely accurate, durable and fast to shoot. It remains in the family but not under my roof. Bought my son a replica/copy of one so he could teach his sons to shoot.

SilentKnight that is an awesome story! Love the Model 62! I am of the wood and steel genre versus synthetic and such myself. That was the reason I got my Grandsons all Model 190's.
