Red Ryder the rear sight is as a 32WS Smokeless sight. They were only produced in the early 1900's up to about 1910 I believe.

Never noticed that sight in all my 94 viewing. Thanks for the answer. I figured all early SRCs had ladder.

The 32WS smokeless site was made from about 1902,03, & 05 as a standard offering, but may have continued to 1910. From various sources it looks like it was phased out before 1924.

I found out the rifle I have was made in February 11, 1097 and received by the warehouse in March 1907. The Cody Firearms Museum was very helpful in getting me the information they had on the Model 94. It came with a shotgun butt. Sight has been changed out, but from what, we may never know. I will look at what was standard on the 1907 carbine. As with todays firearms enthusiasts sights are often modified or changed to suit the shooter. So it was back then.
