Hello fellow Shooters.
Pick up this Beautiful rifle a couple months back. Don't want to shoot my others.
And find it more Interesting than my M1A, the cz858, sks, SR22, or any of
the 3 shot guns.
I've got a model 92 in 44 mag. Another fav.
And a Parker Hale Safari in 30-06 that's a close runner up too.
But something about the 1886 look. And the 45-70 power.
Nostalgia. Well.. Maybe not so much with stainless. But you know what I mean.
Its heavy. But it a good way. The weight comes from the barrel.
I purchased a box of 200 350gr Hard cast bullets from The Bullet Barn.
With a BH 25 level.
I found 38grs of IMR4227 works very nice.
If I continue to use the Hard cast.
Is it better to only shoot Hard cast?
Or is it alright to fire Copper Jacketed bullets as well?
Chiappa Kodiak 45-70 using Hard cast bullets. Good or Bad?
