Long story short my brother got this extension for me as a Christmas present without checking to see if there would be an issue, I would of opted for the +6 extension because the +8 extends out way past my 28" barrel as you can see by the enclosed picture. Are there any really long choke tube extensions out on the market? I think I can get away with it sticking out an inch but I think the way it is now the shot will hit the extension tube, what do you all think?

I occasionally run my extension tubes past my barrel on my autoloaders and the shot does not touch the tube. As for the choke tubes, you can find ones that stick out another inch or so but nothing more than that.

Your not shooting slugs with the extension out that far? Just reg shells? Thx

Mostly shot but I have definitely shot slugs out of it before. If you look at www.TrulockChokes.com they have a tactical series that extends out pretty far.

thanks for your help, maybe I will just keep it then... been kind of hesitant to test fire it with it sticking out that far didnt want to damage it then have to buy a new one vs exchanging it.

I mean if you call them up Ken and the rest of the crew at Nordic Components will surely take care of you. If its bugging you just swap it out. Keep us updated.

talked to trulock he was concerned the porting on the tactical choke would be pushing air against the extended mag and cause some issues... that is a bad ass looking choke though lol

The shot really doesn't spread that much out of the barrel to be an issue Unless you have a stupidly long extension.
I actually kinda like the way it looks with the protruding extension. But only on like a sporting shotgun. Gives it an odd, cool look. Put one of those Barrett style muzzle brakes on it and it would look really neat. This is Jerry Miculek's 930 witht hat setup |
