Posted: Thu Apr 25, 2013 7:35 amI am new to this forum and have a couple of questions.
A friend of mine sold a Win 94 serial # 618XXX which would date it at 1912. It has a saddle loop on the left side and an extremely large lever (about the size of a grapefruit). Wood is in great shape. I asked her when the last time it was handled, she said it has been sitting there for at least 30 years untouched. I offered her $300 and she jumped. Ok the kicker……. The (forgive me on the terminology) upper tang on the receiver is broken strait across from left to right, right where the hammer cocks back into the receiver. I’m thinking of keep it just for the heck of it, any chance for repairs or leave it be?
What do I have?
