Finally sourced a late 40's early 50's Model 70E for my 94. I also got a steel 60's Lyman 66A as a back up. 44, you're off the hook looking for your old peep.
One thing i noticed on my 94 when trying to originally mount this sight. The sight base originally has a little ramp angle of steel at the top to notch in on the bevel on the top of the receiver. The silver plating on my commemorative made that bevel a bit thicker and higher and the sight mount would not sit flat against the receiver side. Neither would the Lyman. Had a machine shop surface grind the little ramp off flat so it would mount. I don't think it affected the rigidity of the mount. If you look at newer Williams and Lyman's that ramp is gone now. Must have been too many tolerance shifts on the 94 over the years.
Can't wait to try this out.

Very nice! I think you'll be very happy with that sight. I have the same sight on 2 model 94s and 2 94/22s. 3 of the ones I have have the coin slotted screw head adjustments. I only have one with the target knobs, it's on the 94/22 magnum. I also had to have the hump machined off one of mine as well. I had to change front sight heights on all of mine I think. I didn't mind this because I wanted blade front sights instead of bead sights anyway. Receiver sights are much better for aging eyes as well.

Craig -
What year is your 94? Did you have to have the received drilled and tapped to mount the sight? I ask because my 1951 Model 94 isn't drilled and tapped, so I'm going to have to go with a Marbles to get a peep sight. Would probably have preferred a receiver mount. |

Hello from a new member!
Your rifle looks great! I just sent you a PM but am not certain if it was delivered. I am trying to see a photo that would show how that sight is attached to the receiver of the rifle. I may get an older model 94 gut would not want to drill and tap the receiver to install a peep sight. Thanks, Model70guy |
