Model 94, 30-30, 1973, used but it even still has the front sight hood on it. The hood is usually the first thing to get pitched. Should make a good cast boolit gun.

I have had several M94 over the years. Most in 30-30 but my best 30-30 ever is a Savage 99, 20" barreled carbine made in 1936, just toooooo fine; that's why I relegate this latest '94 to cast boolits.

Got it cleaned up and out, it spent a great deal of time in a open soft case bouncing around in a pick up on a couple different ranches down around the Star/Whitehall area here in Montana. Sure hasn't seen much use as far as shooting. Finish is good except on the high spots where it chafed against the lining of the soft case. Bore is pristine as is the lock work, lifter, cartridge follower, springs and screws, got the "grew" out from the "between" places. Slid the hood off, had never been off before, now it has the proper user scratches. Gotta cast a few boolits and load some and go out with it; should be OK.

Not a thing wrong with it except that it catches dirt and debris when used in a saddle scabbard and can hang up when extracting the rifle from a case or scabbard. I'll leave it on, my comment was just that in this part of the country they seem to get pulled off, soonest!!

Well...can't tell from your bio where you live or what you do for a living...is the saddle scabbard on a horse, or an ATV !?

The ones I have personal experience with was on the 4 legged critters, never owned an ATV, but it applies just as well.
