How do I remove this front sight without scratching things up?
https://flic.kr/p/2nqZvaz

I bought a Q.D. scope mount that uses this front sight mount for the front ring mount. I tried bare fingers to remove and it won't "just slide out to either side". It's a 1937, so probably never been removed before ever!

Don't want to use pliers

Secure the rifle in a vise and use a non marring punch and hammer. Drive it out left to right.

Thanks. Just to clarify, I'm looking down the barrel Left-to-Right?
I'll probably take it to gunsmith as I don't have any tools like that...
