scope bases
Posted: Tue Jan 12, 2016 7:27 pmMy 1978 xtr came with a base that only uses the 2 front and the front of the rear holes. My dealer has a 338 mag that the scope base is attached the same. Seems odd to me. Reason it is done that way???

I had the same problem, I was given weaver bases and the rear only fit for the front hole. the screw holes were to close together to use both. I found that there are two bases that fit the rear. mine took a weaver 49A and it was a correct fit. maybe it would work for yours. good luck.
