Hello everyone!
I'm a newby to the sight, but not a newby to Winchester collecting. I've mostly focused on leverguns and pump-actions in the past but I have recently picked up a Model 70 made in 1953 in .257 Roberts.
The rifle is missing one of the dummy screws that go in the factory drilled side-mounted receiver sight holes. I'm trying to order a replacement to fill the hole but I'm not sure what size screw is needed. I've looked at schematics online at Numrich but I have not been able to find anything. The top scope base holes appear to be 6-48 but these holes are smaller. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Steve

Call Brownell's, they can probably tell you what size as well as provide the filler screw you need. FWIW I looked at my pre-war M70 and they look like a size 6, but I did not remove one to check.

I have a few if you haven't found the replacements yet. Send me a PM with your address and I'll mail you 4 of them.
