I have three Model 70s.
First is a pre war with sn under 11k in 30-06GOVT. My dad bought this rifle new from Montgomery Wards it is in fine condition but I have restocked her due to a small crack in the stock at the rear tang. I have the original stock set aside. The bluing is conservatively 97%. I don't believe dad fired more than 4 boxes of factory ammo.
The next two are different as I dont know their lineage.
First on is SN 7882XX in 30-06 SPRG Stock is very nice with ebony grip cap and forend. Checkering pattern has what looks like oak leafs. Bolt knob is heavily checkered. Bolt is jeweled as is the floor plate inside the magwell. There are no sights thou it is drilled and tapped with the factory set screws. The trigger guard and all metal is blued steel. There is no aluminium.. The action is polished blue.
Next is SN 8620XX in 22-250 . walnut stock with stamped checkering?? Floor-plate is aluminium as is the trigger guard. Has factory sights with hooded front and a redfield, one piece scope base. Action bluing is more militaristic in quality, bolt is jeweled but the knob is smooth. Overall 95-97%.
I want to insure these for their correct value. Can anyone help??
