My fathere was born in 1920s was a rifleman and gunsmith, I'm told an accomplised stockmaker, and did "borderless french checkering"( again I was told by a friend who examined his rifles) I know they used to go "chuck hunting in upper NY State when I was a kid, all heavy barrels. Being a retired LEO I just never got into chuck hunting and now find a need to sell some rifles.

Ok enough of that, I am aware of Guns International, Gun Broker, Gun Auction, not sure if I am impressed but then again it may be from lack of experience.

Could anyone venture an opinion regarding their personal positive experience of a site or sites and perhaps pitfalls? Thank you.

I use Gun Broker. So far so good. My guns sold quickly and the fee is not too bad. Just make sure that the buyer pays the FFL transfer fees. I go an extra step and ship it from my local FFL. You don't have to do that with a rifle but it makes me feel a little better when I do it that way.

There is little to go wrong when taking a USPS money order. They are considered same as cash in banks, protected by US govt.
