win mod 70 ...help

hello everyone new here ....I purchased another mod 70 coyote yesterday ..its a 300wsm with the factory laminate stock ...Im wanting a lighter one , and had the coyote lite in a 22-250 I liked the stock it had (factory synthetic vented forend) and wondering if it will fit the regular coyote ?? any help appreciated thanks

I think, being they are both standard length actions, that it would fit. There might be some variance based on when the rifles were made, someone with more info on model 70's will have to chime in on that one. 300wsm with a light stock will definitely pack quite a punch in the recoil department.

I called winchester ..they didnt give much info excpet ..that it should fit? I dont mind the kick I have several 300's 300wsm's and a 325wsm ..all are light rifles ....I really want that stock on this one hope somebody will know for sure

how do you like the 325wsm? I was considering it for an elk rifle, although I eventually settled on .338Win. What do you use these guns for? I'm always looking to add to my collection, but I like a purpose for each gun. So basically I'm asking why you'd pick one caliber over another for different applications being 300 and 325 can probably accomplish most of the same tasks.

Hi there,

Not sure if these measurements of centre to centre of action crews may help with your query.

Short Action = 7 1/8" Long Action = 7 9/16"

If you check the Boyds Stocks website there are pictures showing the above measurements, they didn't paste on to this posting.

I have a feeling that the WSM are based on the Short Action length because the WSSM were even a shorter action than 7 1/8"
