Hi, I am looking for any information on the Winchester 1873 in 22 caliber. in specific certainly like to get a hold of users manual or technical diagrams or parts diagrams. And wondering a few things in particular, how many parts are interchangeable between the 22 caliber and the other calibers, and how you actually load the magazine.
I am considering buying with these rifles but I am confused as to the manner in which you load them and concerned about replacement parts. I have read somewhere that the extractors are commonly broken on these vintage rifles.
I would greatly appreciate any help you might be able to give me on this matter. Keep on shooting.

Wow, uou jump right in the rimfire world. The 73 is a 22 short rifle unless you get a rare one in long. Most are spendy for originals. The parts on the rimfire are pretty much different than the larger 38 and 44. Buy it, if you got it, those vintage rifles aint made any more.

Yeah I bought it a while back, it shoots really fine. What I have is the earliest version Winchester 1873 22 short takedown model. I'm particularly interested in any information I can get get on the takedown models themselves, not very much information on these guns at all!
