Hello everyone! My name is Jon and I joined the forum in hopes that you all might be able to help me figure out some information on my Model 70 above and beyond just the manufacturer date. Looking forward to perusing all the topics and discussions here.

Greetings Jon, welcome to the forum. There's a 70 thread on here somewhere. The 70 is a fine rifle. My Son in-law takes his to the deer stand.

Welcome to the Forums. I shoot a Mod 70 Classic Feathweight in 270 caliber and it has taken nearly 100 deer, well over 500 hogs, a half dozen turkey, a couple of bobcats, and 1000's of targets with regularity. It is my go-to rifle for everything. Purchased used in 1990, it has been tuned through many bullet/powder/primer/case recipes. I am fortunate to reload and even more fortunate to have a place to shoot and hunt. See you in the Forums.
If it was easy, anybody could do it.
