I have just bought a second hand winchester Pigeon Grade XTR there is no thread on the inside of the Muzzel so I am assuming that it will not take chokes, I also need a user manual, does any one have a manual.

Welcome to Winchester Owners Forum! Congratulations on picking up a Winchester 101 Pigeon Grade XTR. It should have a screw in choke on the barrel but I could be wrong. Would you be able to post some pictures of your new Winchester when you get a chance. Below is a link to the owners manual.

Not true. They CAN HAVE screw in chokes, but they don't "Should have" them. Many, many of them were made with fixed chokes before choke tubes were offered as an option.

On this new forum, one needs to be careful about starting a rumor about facts that they are not sure of. It just spreads misinformation that the uninformed take for the gospel.
