Model 12 Japan Engraving

I've joined in hopes of finding someone with living knowledge of post-war engravers in Japan. I have a pair of Model 12's that I believe my father had engraved while with occupation army 1950. One was built in 1950 the other 52'. The story I was told was he bought them through the PX and had a "local" artisan do the work. They have the same motif with platinum mounted birds and dogs. I have not seen another gun with this level of work and so the question. Am I looking at work that was done in Japan? One gun has the initials ET just behind the trigger guard.
Anyone ?

I swore I thought I put this in the first post. There are pictures of both guns on Guns International where they are currently posted for sale. The item numbers are 100502500 and 100502507.

The "initials" on the trigger guard are not the engravers initials but an inspectors stamp.
