New member from VA. After retiring from 21 years in the Army, I have finally got more time to spend with my favorite rifle my Winchester model 94 nothin fancy just a AE model but my kids already know this one as "Dad's Gun". Even impressed some of my evil black rifle owning friends by showing them how a "cowboy gun" can shoot by offhand hitting clay pigeons at 125 yards with open sights. Hoping to learn a lot more about this rifle and enjoying it even more.

Welcome.....thanks for your service and congratulations on retiring.

The 94 is a fine rifle. Regardless of vintage.

Welcome. Your eyes are better than mine. When the hardening of your lenses begin, your AE will be a suitable candidate for a 4X scope. The 30-30 is a forgiving round to reload and shoot. Thanks for your service. Semper paratus
If it was easy, anybody could do it.
