Recently acquired ( today ) a Winchester 1200 VR I.C. made in USA 2 3/4 chamber aprox 26 inch barrel. No screw in chokes, no grooves, must be an older model. VERY nice wood and checkering. This is how a shotgun should look. Easy swinging, good looking, hope I can handle the recoil. Been a long time since I shot a shotgun of any type.

Thanks, I see you're near Willow Grove. I am right by Beltzville State Park about 30 miles south of Wilkes-Barre Pa. Shot the 1200 tonight with target loads. Still more recoil than I'd like. Bursitis and a torn rotator cuff seem to be easily irritated. Shame, it cycles and points really well. If my shoulder could take it I could probably squeeze 3 off in a second or two..

Been to Beltzville State Park / Lake a few times...nice area !! We usually visit Jim Thorpe or camp in Hickory Run State Park...then in winter we stay at Towamensing Trails to be close to the ski resorts of Jack Frost and Big Boulder.
Sorry to hear about that shoulder problem...it does make it tough to enjoy shooting the 1200.
How about a pic of that new shotty...?!

There's a trail in the back of my house that leads to a secluded fishing cove on the south side of the dam. About 1/4 or 3/8 mile walk to the cove. I'm on 209 about a mile from Country Junction. Used to be great hunting in the back since there aren't any facilities except a boat dock. From there on west there's nothing until the breast of the dam.
Poachers are going wild right now so the deer herd isn't nearly what it used to be. I shot a wild turkey in my driveway when we moved here in 1977.. I'll try to get some pic's
