no sir........both are ATI "budget guns"
the Commander is a very pleasant surprise to shoot.......perfectly reliable, never FTF and will wear out a "vital zone" target at 25 yds.
only mods (besides the grips) are an Ed Brown 18# recoil spring and a Wilson Combat extended slide release.

the 12 rd. 3.25" "Fatboy" in the top pic is a bit of a different story though......
it has the "multi piece recoil system" that Colt Defenders and Kimber Ultra Carrys use.
the factort system flew apart under fire and the front guide rod/plunger flipped back and hit me in the forehead, locking the rest of the system into the pistol so badly I had to crush the spring to get the slide off.
this was because the barrel guide is held to the rod with a tiny, mild steel SCREW that has become notorious for breaking:

After ATI returned it with the same system, except an Allen head screw, I decided to mod it to the Kimber recoil system.........it works like a charm now!

Well I am still working out how to resize pictures to post.
But my current and tied for all time favorite 1911 (had an Ithaca years ago) of all that I've owned including a very good Kimber Stainless is a lowly Norinco 1911A1. This thing is like a Timex.
I have intentionally beat the snot out of it and it just soaks it all up.
Brass, aluminum and steel cased ammo no problems. HP's, Flat and Round Nosed bullets just don't matter.
No rails and might as well call the front sight permanently fixed. Nothing fancy about it except maybe the Wilson Combat magazines (that I had to work on internally to function properly) or the Bianchi 111 Cyclone tan holster.
This is not the most accurate 1911 or handgun I've owned but it certainly is the most combat ready.
