Checking to see if the range is clear. This is Leo my Maine Coon Cat X Persian. He is a REAL hunter. He will accompany in the woods for miles. In fact if I need to go somewhere I have to take my auto because if I leave the clearing on foot, he will follow.

Okay, on settling the finger lever concern. Now, a cat that acts more like a dog. Unlike dogs, most cats couldn't care less where the parent goes. It's all about what's in the bowl and nap time.

Thanks some more for posting the pics.

Out to start work at the farm. It is late @5:30am. A little earlier the coyotes were howling off in the distance. They do not venture over here often. Wonder why? This is the target I have been using most for the Red Ryder. 2" wide at the base.

The loading gate detail photo and another of the Red Ryder. I have only the Daisy cardboard BB tubes at present as I read they were easier to load.

The tubes are much easier to load. Just tilt and pore. The tube BBs might be prelubed. I don't target shoot the RR as often as I should. My target is the redhead scorpion. They are a nuisance.

Have five other vintage Daisy's that I shoot on occasion to keep the parts moving.

I am going to slightly oil about forty BBs left in a cardboard tube to try your technique. We don't have scorpions or any poisonous snakes here at all. I would never have bought the BB Gun (and then our group ended up with about 8 of them) without your posts. I actually plan now on keeping one of these for my own use. I do think they are good for reinforcing some off hand shooting principles. Joe Murfin's book, Daisy It All Starts Here has some shooting tactics that the military used when it was using BB guns that I myself use when field shooting and in quick handling tactics in engaging targets.

I'm glad you grabbed the RR batch. You and your boys will enjoy them for many years. They are excellent bonding tools that are fun to share.

I was AMAZED by how fun they are to shoot. They are also good at enforcing good shooting techniques. I guess i might have been more questioning of putting the fingers in the lever, etc. With Leo ( the big cat) doing the first range sweep I was already in the "I'm a tourist" mode.

With bolt action rifles I tend to get quite "instructive" but again BB Guns are new to me. Amazing though how much fun they are. Also inexpensive.

In contrast I spent part of my last few days with fellow Native Americans who wanted to see a Native American tribute lever action rifle and that cause failed totally. Henry went to the "five leading families" and no agreements could be reached. Now maybe it will be an Wilderness Homestead model .22 lever action?

If it hadn't been for Red Ryder here on this forum I never would have owned or tried a BB Gun! His commentary and assistance are GREATLY appreciated!

I might even be a better iron sight shooter than I was drifting towards due to very little use of those in recent years. Although all of my military Expert Badges were iron sight shooting.
