The Timber is a compact, carbine-style rifle designed to be supremely fast and maneuverable, and deliver an enormous punch. Chambered in 450 Marlin, it features a quick-swinging 18" ported barrel. Fully adjustable XS® brand ghost-ring sights provide quick target acquisition and excellent accuracy. The checkered stock features a semi-pistol grip design and the three-quarter magazine holds four rounds. A Pachmayr® Decelerator® recoil pad helps reduce recoil. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. Designed for hunting the biggest and the baddest game.

.

This is the last of the Big Bore 94's. This is in the powerful 450 Marlin, a modern 45-70 with considerably more power, and running at much higher pressure.

Did anyone notice that Winchester had discontinued the silly looking Big Bore fat receiver? Several independent test have shown that the beefing up of the area around the bolt locking system was a waste of resources. The weak area is the angle eject side of the receiver which will stretch under high pressure and make the gun inoperable.
