Winchester 1894 Deluxe Takedown Relief Engraved Antique Rifle .38-55 WCF s/n 1835 mfg 1894 - 26” octagon takedown barrel; full mag; John Ulrich signed relief engraving; fancy pistol grip checkered walnut stocks. According to the Winchester factory records on file at the Cody Firearms Museum, this is the first engraved model 1894, and is listed as “Rifle; 38/55 caliber; octagon barrel; plain trigger; Takedown; fancy checkered stock; pistol grip; Blued steel plate on pistol grip with monogram inlaid in gold “MWS”; engraved $16.00; Deer on one side, bear on other; Embossed work with scrolls, tip barrel & buttplate; Engraved and gold line, Rocky Mountain front; Received in the warehouse on March 5, 1895; Shipped from the warehouse on March 5, 1895, on order number 5845”. At this time, this is one of only two known relief engraved model 1894s, and has been featured in the May/June 1982 issue of The American Rifleman magazine; the Winchester Engraving book by R.L.Wilson on page 255, and the Winchester Collector magazine.
Winchester 1894 Antique Short Rifle .38-55 s/n 3559 mfg 1894 - 22” octagon barrel; full mag; straight grain walnut stocks; crescent buttplate. Receiver, barrel and mag retain 80% thinning blue; lever and hammer retain faded case colors; buttplate is mostly faded top silver/grey; stocks retain a high degree of their original varnish finish; mechanics are crisp; bore is bright and considered a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. A study of the original Winchester factory records indicate only 2,252 rifles were made with 22” barrels.
Winchester 1894 Deluxe Antique Rifle .30 WCF s/n 22905 mfg 1895 – 26” round matted barrel; 4-Cartridge magazine; color case hardened receiver; three leaf platinum lined rear sight; Lyman ivory bead sporting front sight; fancy pistol grip checkered oil finished walnut stocks with rubber shotgun buttplate. Factory records indicate 155 model 1894 rifles were made with a case hardened receiver, with only 16 deluxe case hardened rifles. The round matted barrel could make this a unique configuration.
Winchester Deluxe Antique Engraved 1894 Sporting Rifle .30 WCF s/n 39514 mfg 1895 - 22” part round barrel; half mag; No. 9 engraving on the barrel, forearm cap, receiver and crescent buttplate; casehardened hammer, lever & buttplate; Marble No. 3 front sight with ivory bead; factory blank in rear sight dove-tail; Lyman folding combination tang sight adjustable for windage and elevation; deluxe pistol grip style E carved & checkered fancy oil-finished walnut stocks. Condition - Fine, approximately 40% of the original blue on the receiver. The barrel has nearly 90% of the slightly faded blue finish with some very minor thinning on the top and left flat between the rear sight dovetail and the receiver. The forearm cap has about 60% of the blue finish; the balance is a smooth, blue-gray, patina. The receiver has a very attractive, blue gray patina with large portions of blue finish in protected areas. The hammer and loading lever have strong case colors with some silvering. The crescent buttplate has a smooth silver patina. The engraving is crisp and deep; the barrel markings are sharp. The fancy walnut stock and forearm are in excellent condition. The checkering shows only minor handling wear and the carved scroll borders are sharp. The stock and forearm are free from nicks and scratches and retain nearly all of the original satin finish. The factory engraving and checkering are identical to that illustrated in the 1897 Winchester catalogue "HIGHLY FINISHED ARMS" and shown on pages 209-211 of "THE BOOK OF WINCHESTER ENGRAVING" by Wilson. This rifle has a full-page illustration and description on page 426 of "THE WINCHESTER BOOK" by George Madis.

Winchester 1894 Takedown Short Rifle .30 WCF s/n 122466 mfg 1898 - 20” part round takedown barrel; full mag; Lyman front sight; blank in rear dovetail; tang sight; extra finish walnut stocks; case colored Hammer, lever & crescent buttplate. Receiver retains 75% thinning blue with plum patina mixing in w/forging marks visible; barrel retains 90% bright blue w/edge on points of octagon; mag retains 60% - 80% blue with thinning at magazine retaining band from takedown wear; hammer and lever retain traces of their original case colors with balance silver/grey; buttplate is mostly silver; stocks retain a high degree of their original varnish finish and are in excellent condition overall; action is crisp; bore is brilliant.
Winchester 1894 Semi-Deluxe Short Rifle .32 WS s/n 149228 mfg 1899 – 15” part round barrel; half mag; Winchester 64A Smokeless rear sight; dovetailed front sight; capped pistol grip checkered straight grain walnut stocks w/rubber shotgun buttplate. Fully restored utilizing all original parts, including the stocks. ATF cleared.
Winchester 1894 Takedown Short Rifle .30 WCF s/n 193161 mfg 1900 – 24” part round takedown barrel; half mag; colored case hardened hammer, lever and crescent buttplate; sporting front and rear sights; extra finish grade high gloss varnish finished walnut stocks. Condition: 97+% overall with some light handling marks; bright shiny bore. In a study of the model 1894 factory records, only 1661 rifles were produced with a 24” barrel, and this one being part round, takedown. All features are verified by a Winchester factory letter of authentication from the Cody Firearms Museum.

Receiver retains 90% original bright blue; barrel and mag retain 95% bright blue; buttplate retains 70% blue; hammer & lever retain 70% vivid case colors; stocks retain almost all of their original oil finish and are in near-new condition. Winchester 1894 Deluxe SRC .30 WCF s/n 422491 mfg 1907 - 20” round matted barrel w/no rear sight dovetail; deluxe H-style checkered walnut stocks; Lyman receiver sight; saddle ring stud milled to accommodate receiver sight. Receiver retains 80% original blue on sides with 10% on bottom and on bolt; barrel retains 90% blue; stocks retain a high degree of original varnish finish; buttplate is a smooth even plum patina; bore is bright. One of only four known matted carbines; pictured on page 408 of Madis Winchester Book.
Winchester 1894 Musket .30 WCF s/n 503008 mfg 1909 - 30” round barrel; full mag; carbine- style rear sight graduated to 200 yards; square base front sight base/bayonet lug; straight grain walnut stocks w/full forend and three barrel bands; smooth case colored carbine/musket style buttplate w/no trap door; sling swivel in buttstock and in middle barrel band; angular bayonet. Barrel retains 98% bright blue with wear near muzzle from bayonet; receiver retains 95% bright blue with some minor areas of flaking; hammer, lever and trigger retain most of their original strong vivid case colors; buttplate retains 40% vivid case colors with balance turning silver; stocks retain nearly all of their original oil finish with some light handling marks; mechanics are crisp; bore is brilliant. Bayonet is mostly bright with a few minor handling marks. This rare musket was a sample gun made by the Winchester factory to test the feasibility of a model 1894 in musket configuration and is one of four known ‘94 muskets as listed in the Inventory of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company Firearms Reference Collection. The gun was originally acquired from the Winchester factory museum and recently purchased from the Eldon Owens collection.

Winchester 1894 Baby SRC .32 WS s/n 889043 mfg 1921 - 14” round barrel; integral forged front post with pinned Marble Sheard gold bead front sight blade; leaf rear sight graduated 0-20; gumwood stocks. Receiver retains traces of original blue turned plum w/balance flaked to silver/gray; barrel retains 80% coverage of bright thinning blue; mag retains 50% blue coverage turning plum; buttplate mostly silver/gray; stocks retain a high degree of their original oil finish with dings, mars and scratches. This is the only known 14” 1894 SRC in .32 WS caliber. Includes ATF clearance letter.
Winchester 1894 Deluxe Engraved Eastern Carbine .30 WCF s/n 897060 mfg 1921 - 20” round barrel w/no rear sight dovetail slot; half mag; number 10 style factory engraving with extra embellishment on the breach, upper tang and around the serial number; Lyman 1A DA locking-type tang sight; forged square base w/pinned blade ivory bead front sight; 3x deluxe H-style checkered capped pistol grip dense grain walnut stocks with 13-1/4” length of pull; embossed hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Receiver retains about 90% – 95% original bright blue with a few light scratches and some thinning on the bottom and top. Lever retains 70% thinning blue and the hammer retains 80% bright blue. Barrel retains 95% original bright blue with slight muzzle wear. Stocks are sound and show moderate wear, light handling marks and retain generous amounts of their original oil finish. Winchester 1894 Carbine M-94 .30-30 s/n 958476 mfg 1925 - Stainless steel barrel, three-leaf express sight w/ platinum bands, post front, 90% condition.
Winchester 1894 SRC .30 WCF s/n 1025460 mfg 1927 – 20” model 1895 round barrel with rifle-style magazine tube retaining band; full mag; graduated leaf carbine-style rear and forged base pinned blade front sights; straight grain walnut stocks. Receiver retains 95% original blue thinning at the edges; hammer and lever retain strong blue coverage; barrel and mag are in very good condition with 95%+ blue; stocks are in excellent condition; mechanics are crisp; bore is like new. This carbine is one of very few made with a Model 1895 barrel/front sight and a rifle-style magazine tube retaining band. The installation of a standard 1894 dovetailed rear sight necessitated the factory to weld the original 1895 screw holes, which traces of this work are visible in the area between the rear sight and barrel band.

Winchester 1894 Carbine .444 Marlin s/n "R.L.K.1" mfg 2001 - George Madis signed & engraved; 17-1/2" round ported barrel; ¾ magazine; angled-eject receiver w/hammer block safety; deluxe pistol grip checkered walnut stocks; rubber shotgun buttplate; folding rear & hooded front sights; high-polish blued finish; jeweled breech block & cartridge elevator; provisions for tang sight. Carbine is in new, unfired condition and 100% original, with all work by Winchester (USRACO) factory custom shop. A special serial number "R.L.K.1" was assigned to this carbine. Steel parts were provided by the factory in the white to George Madis for engraving. The engraved parts were then returned to the factory, blued and reassembled by the Winchester custom shop. This was the last gun to be engraved by George Madis.
