I just aquired a Model 12, 20 gauge with a 24" barrel. The serial number is 278xx this dates the gun to 1921. The condition is about 95% and the screws on the gun have never been touched! I have never seen a model 12 with this length barrel? The barrel s/n matches the gun and has no rib, just a front bead. Can anyone please share any information on this and maybe a value? The owner I got the gun from purchased it used from a gun shop in San Diego back in 1954.

The early 12s in 20 ga. came with a 25" bbl. up until about 1927. Are you sure you are measuring correctly? Remove bbl. assembly and measure the full length including the threads.

The total length is 24-3/4", so I guess that would be considered 25"?
