Howdy folks,
I am new to the Model 70, and desire to pick up one of the early models with Clip Slots in .30-06 Gvt. Can anyone tell me what year they ceased cutting the Clip Slots, and maybe the Serial number range?

I don't have the sr# range in front of me right now, but generally the slots for clip feeding were done away with after WWII when sporting rifle manufacture resumed. That's not to say some post war guns didn't have the slot though.
