Hello All, just joined, glad I found this "Winchester" site!...I just bought the
20 gauge semi-auto in fairly excellent condition, I did my 1st cleaning after
taking it out dove hunting, but when i put it together the bolt assembly does
not lock back, cycle a new shell or even actuate the shell ramp?! I have the
12 gauge version of the same model and have had it for 15 years, it was easy
to clean and put together from day one? I've tried for 2 nights straight and I'm stumped,
I did not force anything in so I don't think I bent anything, the only difference I see
between the 2 models is the bridge in the 20 does not need a screw, is there a
trick or tip someone can help me with before I take it to a shop? Any help
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the Winchester Owners Forum Johnny !!
Have you searched YouTube for a video on re-assembly...!? |

Thank you SHOOTER13! Yes sir, watched the handful that were there, pretty standard
stuff, same procedure as my 12 gauge 1400, tried again last night and did it real slow to make sure everything lined up and slid in place, took it out this am for doves and I thought I got it, it shoots the chambered round, cycles in a new round, shoots that, then nothing?! luckily I brought the 12 with me. Oh, and also read everything I could find on www, that pertained to my gun, nothing special on the re-assembly. |

SHOOTER13, I GOT IT! Wow, was that a struggle, the ramp, the bolt assembly and
your patience! have to be in the right place! I see you are a "moderator", if you have anybody with this "should be simple" problem, send them my way, I can't be the only one with this issue?! maybe I am, but like I've said I have the 12 gauge version of this model, I love it, it has never given me problems, I have to treat this 20 a little different when assembling. Thanks for the motivational push! |
