I, obviously, am new to the forum. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA, on the Shenandoah Valley side. I only recently (about 3 years ago) got into guns, but I'm sure you know how it goes- in for a penny, in for a pound. I love them, as a sport. I don't hunt, but I do love to target shoot, admire the splendid machines that they are, and I enjoy getting to know different brands and models.
Which is what brings me to the forum- until recently, I didn't own any Winchester guns. My first was a Springfield handgun, then the second was a Sig Sauer. I got whole hog into Sigs, which I still do favor. But, along the way, I bought a Ruger AR and an SR1911, some Glocks, a few Henry rifles, a sweet 1972 Marlin 336, and a Weatherby shotgun.
Then, two days ago, my father decided to give me some of his guns, while we can enjoy them together. In the bunch was a Winchester 94 in 30.30, and a Winchester 1887 12 gauge lever action. Which is what brings me here, primarily- the 1887. I will post in the appropriate forum, and I look forward to some wisdom and insight into this amazing old shotgun.

Greetings hodge. Welcome.
I can't share any knowledge towards the 87. Have never seen a sample in hand. I see 1 on the auction sites occasionally. A very interesting piece. GOA Life Member

Welcome. When I bought my first 16-long gun safe I had four guns. At that time the Spousal Unit said I could "forget about filling it up!" That was four (4) safes ago and the last two (2) are 32 gun units. The Spousal Unit is gone and the safes are not completely filled to capacity, but then, I am still working on it! Who would have thunk it - now my gal is a "hard steel lady"...
If it was easy, anybody could do it.
