hi, my name is ed, i live in calif and am an avid winchester 1890 collector as well as other models. i have a very nice 1873 38-40 that i need to get or make a spring for the buttplate trap door in the plate. does anyone have any advise or knowledge to share with me? thanks

Hi ya Ed, welcome to the herd.
I'm not familiar with the trapdoor model. I suppose you have tried the usual vendors. A gunsmith might have the ability to carve a suitable spring from 1 of the many other types out there. Some of those smiths can compromise parts very well. GOA Life Member

thanks for the welcome guys . i figure i will take one of my trigger springs and make one from that. i have exhausted all the usual and some not usual sources for said spring. quick question. how do i post pictures to my forum or profile?
