Hello.
New member from northern Nevada.

My father has a 1961 1894 he has reblued (I know). He didn't know any better. But it has some pitting caused by living it's early life in southern California and Mexico. His father and he were big marlin fishermen back in the 60s. Apparently as the story goes my grandfather would often catch shark instead of Marlin. So in frustration his remedy was the shark got the 30-30 point blank.

Anyways, I was never a big lever action guy. But now in my mid to late 30s I've sort of fallen in love with them. One day I thought to myself, I really don't collect anything...and I decided I'm going to collect 70 Winchester 1894's. 70 for the pre 64 years. I don't need 61 as my dad has that and one day I'll have it. So my first was recently purchased last week. A 1943 off of gunbroker. Not interested in museum pieces as that will get too expensive. Just looking for everyday shooters. But that's my story. Thanks to this forum and all the information available by its members.
