Misfires in New M70

SIL just bought a new M70 in 30/06. At the range we have been experiencing misfires at the rate of 5 out of 50. Primer strike looks light and when tried in two other 06's the rounds fired fine. Cleaned the inside of the bolt completely and that did not help. Two issues we noted were the striker spring rubs on the inside of the bolt body and the firing pin is not rounded, more like a truncated cone. Firing pin protrusion is .042 versus the .046 on my FWT (which has a round tip) so may or may not be an issue. He is going to call Winchester on Tuesday and see what they say. Anyone else having this problem?

Sent it back and was returned this week. Looks like striker spring was replaced with one that doesn't rub, the firing in tip rounded a bit and either the bolt modified for a different end put on the striker. Originally if you rotated the bolt sleeve to the fired position the cocking piece on the end of the striker was bottomed in the cocking notch in the bolt. Now it stops just short of bottoming, so may have been replaced as well. Firing pin protrusion now measures ,043 so slightly greater than it was. Need to get it to the range and verify it fires every time.
