Posted this a couple of weeks ago in the Hunting Forum but haven't received any response, so I thought I would try in this forum.
I recently acquired a used Winchester 1300 turkey gun with improved cylinder, full and extra full chokes. Is it safe to shoot slugs through the extra full choke? From everything I have read it should be safe through the full choke, but I have never had a gun with an extra full choke before. I would like to shoot both 00 buck and slugs through the tightest choke possible without having to change chokes, while still being safe. Thanks for the help.

I agree with bobski with the extra suggestion of calling Winchester directly as any information on net is opinion not fact.

Thanks for the replies. Bought it used without a manual.

RossA, with no manual I'd call Winchester, they can probably help you. Good luck and Be SAFE!

1300 manual available as pdf file. About half way down under Discontinued Models. Perhaps this is what you have:
