I recently got a Model 52 that has always been in the family, but my dad doesnt know much about the gun, and the people in his side of the family that would know the answer to this question passed away a long time ago.
I have a Model 52 Type B with a Bull Barrel, and would like to put a bipod on it for an easier time at the range. I have been looking but i am not sure if its possible or not.
Thanks
- James
Can you put a bipod on a Winchester Mod 52?

Look for a bipod that mounts to a sling swivel, most modern designs are configured that way.

If the rifle has an accessory under the forend rail its pretty easy to make a block that fits in the rail and will accept a sling swivel stud for bi-pod mounting. I made an adapter from an dovetailed old sight block

Very nice rifle sir, I'm usually more of a Remington 700 kind of guy but I I still like this rifle. As far as the Winchester bipod goes, does it have a sling swivel stud on it that way you can attach a sling directly to the bipod? I've been looking to get a new hunting rifle and I really want the Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .308 but since it only has one sling stud I will most likely get the SPS Varmint instead, unless I can find a bipod with a sling stud. Sincerely- Bronze

I'm afraid to say I added a small rail to mine (52B) so that i could add a 'pod. Also an EGW scope mount so my tire old eyes could see to shoot it well.
Still my favourite gun - she's been with me since 1973. |
