Anyone know how many or how rare this variant of 94/22 mag is? Can't find out much online. Saw on in a 94/17 sold for almost $2100. Is the mag as valuable? |

The 9422 laminated stock rifles are listed in my 2009 guns and prices book for $500 - $600 new in box (sounds very low to me). As a comparison an XTR model is $800 NIB. The 9417 is listed for $1200 New in box. In my experience, the 9417 is getting very hard to find now in any configuration. Its almost always more than 2x the value of any comparable 9422. The 9422 laminated stock models are actually shown to have a lower resale value than an xtr model. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me, however the collector market will dictate the price level for the future. Real world prices would not always agree with this book and its prices, so don't think that it isn't worth a premium with this stock.. I'd say a serious collector would pay a premium for a laminated stock, and the prices will likely change in the near future to reflect this because they are rarely encountered.
