Hi everyone!
I am new to the site and a little new to the pre 64 model 70's. I just layed one away and would like to know if there is anything I should watch out for, and if this is an area I really should get into. I have been collecting Winchesters for years ( Modern New haven Model 70's) and Older model 12's and 97's.. But I have recently taken an intrest in the pre 64 model 70's. The one I layed away is a 308 win. and seems to be in pretty good shape. This sometimes sends up a flag with the other older guns I buy.

Pre 64 M70s in good condition are always a good investment.

Thank you very much for the information. I know some modifications are made and can hurt the value of a gun.

Thanks!!
It is really nice to find a forum with people that have the same passion about Winchesters as I do! Sometimes I feel it's more of a fever then a passion. My wife and I went to several gunshops yesturday and no one had any of the new model 70's. I was very disapointed!
