Same scope and set up as his model 70. Ironsighter mounts and a Weaver 2-7x with post/crosshair reticle. The gun was virtually unfired when I acquired it- never had a scope on it. Its still in fantastic condition- and its another great shooter.

I also inherited this beautiful model 88 with a 4 digit serial number. I could say that I actually got it back. I bought it for my Dad as a retirement present. He hunted with it one year then went back to his model 100. Same scope and set up as his model 70. Ironsighter mounts and a Weaver 2-7x with post/crosshair reticle. The gun was virtually unfired when I acquired it- never had a scope on it. Its still in fantastic condition- and its another great shooter. M "Inconceivable." | |

Wow, that thing is gorgeous! Super early model......has the clover leaf recoil lug. Couldn't tell but, is that a 308 or maybe a 358 (that would be highly collectible)? Nice rifle! Hans |

Love it! Old post but have to opine! First year in 308 only! My favorite year for the Model 88 and my favorite caliber. Very nice! I sure love mine!
