Hello all
I just received a model 1894 from my father. I'm not sure when he got it, but it has the cross bolt safety. Seems like a pretty nice rifle. I should be able to get good use from it.
I'm glad to be part of the forum, and hope to learn about this fire arm from you folks.
Thanks

Copper BB

Welcome to the forum....I joined a few days ago myself and never got the usual welcome postings. Oh well. I probably pissed someone off by mentioning "Marlin" in my post. HA! Anyhow, I belong to both gun specific and non-specific forums. I joined this one and Winchestercollector.org to exchange info on my 1894 (1949 in 32 Win). These forums are a great resource and I've already have gathered plenty of info on my '94.

Go here to determine the year of manufacture of your '94:

Pauline...thanks for the welcome!!

I noticed the belt driven machinery as shown in one of your web site photos. I'm from Waterbury and remember clearly in the 1950's driving by Scovill factories and seeing the countless belts driving their equipment. My how times have changed. (BTW: I left CT at age 18 when I went off to college in PA in 1962 and never looked back.)

It is good you never looked back. Connecticut has gotten pathetic with the high taxes, super strict gun laws and not much else to offer. Of course the super strict gun laws here only apply to the law abiding citizens not the bad guys!
