Greetings all....It was a struggle to get signed up with this forum but I finally made it. Anyhow, I recently acquired a 1949 vintage 1894 in 32 Win and like all my interests, I join an appropriate forum so I can exchange information.

This is my first Winchester and I'm anxious to launch a few rounds with it. I was actually shopping for a Marlin 336 (I have an '84 336ER in 356 Win and a '58 336 in 35 Rem) but found this '94 and grabbed it. The barrel bluing is 'moderate' and the receiver bluing as expected is mostly gone. I've redone the wood which cleaned up nicely but I'm debating on cold bluing it. With 126,100 produced in 1949, it is hardly rare so I don't see any reduction in its value if I redo the bluing.

Any suggestions as to which cold bluing process/materials I should use would be appreciated.

By the way, I'm located in King County about 25 miles from downtown Seattle.

Been to Seattle/Tacoma a few times for my job with the DoD...nice place to visit, but a little too dreary for me.

As far as cold bluing...I can't help ya...but I'm sure someone will come along to help shortly...enjoy the forum !
